1. Smart Icons 1.5 Released

   Over the weekend I updated Smart Icons and turned it into an executable with user-specific preferences, auto-run capability, and a proper setup program. Head on over to Smart Icons’ new home for downloads and details.

2. Smart Desktop and Quick-Launch Icons For Discs and USB Drives with AutoHotkey

   A script for AutoHotkey to add and delete icons automatically to/from the desktop and/or quick-launch panel as discs, USB keys, network drives, etc. are inserted and removed.

3. An Automated To-Do List For Launchy And Samurize (Or Conky)

   todo.py and done.py are two scripts for editing a desktop-based to-do list with Launchy.

4. Project Euler: Problem 43

   Project Euler is a set of mathematical challenges that a well-written program running on a modest computer should be able to solve in under a minute, which I thought might be interesting to pass a little time with every now and again.

5. Oceans Eleven: A Card Game For AisleRiot Solitaire

   A few months back I ported a Windows card game called “Ocean’s Eleven” to GNOME as part of the AisleRiot suite of solitaire.

6. Using live.co.uk e-mail addresses with Thunderbird

   Country-specific versions of live mail accounts can be made to work with the Webmail add-on in Thunderbird by adding the appropriate line in domains.txt

7. Random YouTube Regionalisation

   RandomTube is a Firefox extension to randomise the country-specific version when visiting YouTube. (Not for those unwilling to be baffled by a lot of foreign language text.)
