Paul, Graphic-Novel Style

My brother Paul is a fan of Heroes, so, when gift time rolled around, I thought it’d be an interesting idea to put into practice what I had learned from an online tutorial for Illustrator some time ago, and present him with a graphic-novel–style portrait. Substituting for Illustrator was Inkscape, the open-source vector-graphics editor—which has a few quirks that bother me, but has the massive advantage of being free, and is quite sufficient for my needs.

My brother Paul presented in a graphic-novel style.

Printed as a 10″ by 8″ image, and suitably framed, I thought it actually looked quite impressive; and Paul appreciated it enough for it to adorn his music studio, so the time spent on it was worth more than just the experience gained in the process.

And now, as a shameless (and unrequested) advertisement for his own recently-launched website, I present further links to Paul Stewart Music (http://www.paulstewartmusic.co.uk/).  While the Venn diagram of musical preferences shows little intersection for the two of us, I have to admit that he does have talent.  Follow one of the four gratuitous links if you want to check him out.

  1. So I found your site after searching by your name – page 10 on google! I’d almost given up hope after page 9! You definitely need to work on your SEO for searches by Marc Stewart (I thought that surely there can’t be that many Marc Stewarts with a C but oh my was I wrong and some of them look like they’ve been inbreeding for centuries)
So I thought that perhaps your penguin may appear somewhere, however I knew not of it’s name to incorporate it into my search keywords.
Your site is impressive I must admit, I will certainly be getting you on my employment books when this venture begins to take off. Also, muchos gracias for the kind words about my musical talent. Praise where praise is due, I’ve navigated around the site and think it’s superb and have even bookmarked it so that I can check it at regular intervals – so no slacking off and keep it updated! ha ha!
